When confronted with a life-threatening disease, studies show that only 1 in 8 people will make the necessary lifestyle changes to prevent the disease from progressing or being eradicated. Stunning statistic, isn’t it?
How many people do you know that are overweight and have been told to lose weight due to being pre-diabetic? Or a person with all the markers for heart disease who won’t give up the fat, salt, and sugar laden food in exchange for a more plant-based diet to prevent a heart attack?
It’s a mindset…one that needs to shift from a place of sick care (the current health care system), to well care. What if we focused on living well? Making decisions about food, cleaning products, personal care products, and supplementation that fed the body and promoted vitality instead of the current mindset of managing symptoms? What if our cultural promoted longevity based on exercise, prevention, and overall well-being?
Many people that I know are taking the challenge to live differently; to make healthier choices with nutrition, to focus on well care, to live a life that is focused on disease prevention, to daily commit to lifestyle habits that promote totally body wellness. They are living proof that it can be done….One day at a time, one bite of food at a time, one step at a time. The daily small steps turn into long term habits. Once the habit is formed, it is a new way of living life.
When will your journey begin? When will you commit to taking the small step? I’d love to help you on the journey to well care! Why not start now?
