Gut Health: Could Candida or Parasites be Living in Your Gut?
For years I have fought a systemic fungal infection known as Candida Albicans. For me, the overgrowth was the result of taking too many antibiotics as a child, which destroyed my gut health. It wasn’t until much later in life that I became informed about Candida, and began working on killing it off: I starved it with my diet and took yeast killers…for nearly 15 years, but couldn’t beat it.  I was able to help my clients get rid of their overgrowth, but not my own. I worked with various naturopaths, used their protocols, and nada! So, I’ve live with it and “managed” it as well as I could.
Why can’t I kill Candida?
I’ve always had this nagging question, “Why can’t I kill the Candida? What is going on in my body that it doesn’t respond to all the products and elimination diets? Can you imagine what it’s like for me? A Certified Nutrition Coach that isn’t able to help herself? It’s a bit humiliating.
How I tried to kill Candida
Those who know me know that I am tenacious about figuring out health issues, so I kept digging and digging. I did 3 months of coffee enemas, detox baths, sitting in the infrared sauna 3x per week. Plus, taking every supplement known to man regarding detoxification. It was exhausting. I cleaned out some of the environmental toxins, but still no answer to the Candida dilemma.
There is Hope
A friend(who is a chiropractor) posted a before and after photo on FB of what she and her husband used to look like 10 years prior: puffy, overweight, and inflamed. The after photo was remarkable and gave me hope…maybe this is the key to what’s going on with me: parasites. I had previously done stool tests for parasites that indicated nothing was present. But, I know that not all tests are accurate, so I set up an appointment to go in for the last ditch effort to figure out why I couldn’t rid my body of Candida, why I was bloated and inflamed internally, and why I couldn’t drop all the extra weight no matter what I did.
I have parasites (gross)
The doctor’s muscle testing confirmed that I had parasites, and I  began what has now been an 8 month process of eliminating parasites: tape worms, thread worms, and microscopic parasites. These little boogers hide in organs, fat tissue and even in the blood. It’s absolutely disgusting to think that they have been living in my body for many years, but pretty cool to know that they’re coming out. Better out than in, right?
Parasites prevented the Candida products from working.
As my body began to rid itself of the parasites with the help of specific supplements and tinctures, I began to notice an improvement with my Candida. You see, the parasites were preventing the Candida products from working. The parasites encase themselves in a biofilm that prevents the antifungals from working effectively. It has been truly a blessing to have learned about parasitic infections and their affect on Candida remediation. If I had not had the tenacity to continue on, knowing that there was an underlying issue, I would still be where I was 8 months earlier.
What you should do if you suspect Candida or Parasites
So, where am I going with all of this? First, I want people to know that Candida can be eliminated and I can help you do that. Second, if for some reason the protocol is not working, I can help you find the right practitioner to figure out if parasites, heavy metals, or environmental toxins might be preventing your body from healing.
